I have several other cases, this is the best yet. The swivel clip disconnects from the case and it can be removed completely if you do not like it.
The headphone and usb connector areas are completely accessible as well as the hold button. If you have a 160gb classic, this is a no brainer.
I put a screen protector over it just to keep it clear. There is nothing covering the wheel, so there is no restriction of movement.
The screen cover fits snug. It has a good grip to it with all of the grooves and rubber material.
Speck really came through with this one and at the price that I paid for it, it is tops.
hits concrete. After reading the many positive reviews, I purchased the Speck Toughskin for my 160 Classic. I'm staring down at it with the utter certainty it's died a sudden death.Needless to say, it didn't and has been in perfect working order. It's stylish (each of my 3 brothers ordered one after seeing mine) and more importantly to me it does exactly what it says: saves your Ipod.I ordered this a day after receiving my new 160-Ipod. Two days after receiving it, I had exited my car at the supermarket, got distracted and my Ipod slips out of my hand and smack. So for $18 or so (including shipping)my Ipod was protected. Well worth the money.
The Speck Toughskin Rubberized cover for the Ipod Classic is the only way to go. Ladies looking for great protection on that expensive Ipod Classic you gave your tough guy for Christmas this year. Well look no further. Easy for big hands to hold on too, looks tough, and will keep your expensive electronic gear safe, secure and looking brand new. He will like it, and so will your pocket book.
I've wrapped three iPods with the ToughSkin, the first one in 2005. I've dropped my iPods more times than I can count, but they always work afterwords.I gave my brother an iPod with the Speck case, and it's endured through two separate tours to Iraq & Afghanistan and back without any damage. They are good cases which are quite durable, I've never had the case break or tear and they are quite shock resistant. In my opinion the rubber handles a fall better than a metal or plastic case would. They're hard to beat, especially for the price. At the risk of sounding like a plant, I'd just like to add that Speck is a great company to deal with. I had one of the little plastic screen protectors fall out and they sent me two promptly and without charge.
I bought this for my husbands ipod classic. He is very happy with it. Meets all his needs, rugged. The belt clip is perfect for when he goes running.
